When you have an IVA life may be a little hard, you may think that you are missing out on the more exciting things in life because you have got a large monthly repayment that you must pay!

However here are a few tips to living with an IVA and how it really isn't all that bad

IVA tip 1
You probably know exactly what your monthly budget is if your on an IVA, however a really good trick is too cut back your monthly budget even further, maybe by only a few pounds a week, and with that money save it and use it at the end of the month for a treat, like a night out or a nice gift. This will help you to be less downhearted when your friends do things and you cant afford to as you're in debt.

IVA tip 2
Try finding out what is free to do in your local area. Living on a tight budget when you have an IVA can be depressing, however finding things in your area to do for free, like visiting a museum or park will be great, more importantly cost free entertainment.

IVA tip 3
When you have an IVA, you may feel like your missing out on things like holidays and visits abroad, so why not think about going to stay with friends by the coast, lake district or basically anywhere that's not your home – get away for a few days, for free with friends and remember the best things in life are free.

IVA tip 4
When you have an IVA going out is very expensive so have a 'bring your own' house party – House parties are notoriously good fun and you don't have to pay for drinks at some expensive bar.

IVA tip 5
Always keep in mind why you got an IVA. When it's tough and you feel like your missing out remember that you got your IVA to get yourself out of debt and within a few short years you will be free from debt!
